Rachel A. Barrett Farwell 91 of Plattsburg Missouri died Friday July 7, 2017 at a Liberty Missouri Hospital. Born on May 11, 1926 in Chicago Illinois to Jesse M. and Lucy Alma (Finley) Barrett. She was a graduate of Charleston Missouri High School class of 1943 and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University Of Missouri Columbia Missouri. Rachel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Plattsburg; she retired from teaching after 54 years of service, 34 of those years was in the Plattsburg Missouri School District. She was devoted and faithful to the Plattsburg food pantry.
On Dec. 21, 1946 she married Otis W. "Red" Farwell they enjoyed 66 years of marriage before he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her parents and a grandchild.
Survivors include her children Rachel (Gregory) Pogois of Athens Greece; Howard (Sherry) Farwell of Kansas City Missouri; Beth Farwell of Plattsburg Missouri; Raymond (Brenda) Farwell of Plattsburg Missouri and Ellen (Rick Brasiola) Farwell of Bella Vista Arkansas. 11grandchidren and 19 great grand children.
Private healing farewell service will be held with interment in the Green Lawn Cemetery Plattsburg Missouri. The Family suggests memorial gifts to the Plattsburg Food Pantry or the Senior Center.
