Karla Chestnut, 75, Plattsburg, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Benton House of Staley Hills.

She was born June 3, 1950 in Smithville, Missouri, to Robert and Carlene (Jones) Greaves. She earned her bachelor's degree from Northwest Missouri State University and worked as a pharmacy tech.

Karla married Olen Chestnut on August 31, 1973. He preceded her in death in 2012.

Karla was a member of Smithville United Methodist Church, as well as the Red Hat Society, Sunny Side Circle and Rebecca Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olen; and son, Eric Chestnut.

She is survived by her son, Kyle Chestnut (Brooke).
