Donald J. Pelzel 86 of Plattsburg Missouri died Saturday Dec. 1, 2018 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron Missouri. Born on Feb. 18, 1932 in Hays Kansas to Joseph and Monica (Klaus) Pelzel. Don received his Masters Degree in Education From Central Missouri State University. Don was a history and audio- visual teacher and golf coach at Plattsburg High School before his retirement. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church Plattsburg, VFW and Retired Teacher's Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife Clare of the home; son Curt (Patti) Pelzel of Harrisburg Missouri; grandchildren Brennan Pelzel, Rhiannon Shoults and Adelyn Shoults, and two great grandchildren Ian and Josie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00PM Wednesday Dec. 5, 2018 at the St. Ann's Catholic Church Plattsburg. The family will gather with friends 6-8pm on Tuesday Dec. 4, 2018 at the funeral home where a special time of reflection will be held by Dr. Scott Killgore. Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery Jacksonville Missouri on Thursday Dec. 6, 2018 at 1pm. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Plattsburg Senior Center or St. Ann's Church.
