IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dixie Bradley
Ozenberger
April 20, 2018
A single lifetime is brief yet we pack in so many memories. Dixie Ozenberger passed away on April 18 after a brief illness. Dixie was the first child born to E.O. and Myra Bradley in St. Joseph, on March 29, 1933. As the eldest child, she kept a watchful eye on her rowdy younger brothers Emery and Roger. Dixie met Larry Ozenberger at Central High School and they began a long courtship that continued through university, graduation and beyond. Dixie and Larry wed in 1956 and soon settled in Plattsburg where Larry launched a long career caring for the community as a busy county doctor. Dixie also was a leader in the community, serving as the first woman elected to the school board, holding the position of juvenile officer for Clinton County, and serving many years as an executive in the Northwest Missouri Girl Scout Council. She was particularly proud to be appointed by the Honorable Tom Coleman to a panel selecting local youth for admission to the US military academies.
Dixie and Larry raised three children in Plattsburg, Laura, now residing in Parkville, MO, Brad, located in Silver Spring, MD, and Melinda, residing in Wichita, KS. Dixie also is survived by 6 grandchildren whom she adored.
A splendid and meaningful life… she will be missed. A graveside service will be held April 30 at 1:00 in Memorial Park Cemetery at 5005 Frederick Avenue in St. Joseph.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributing to the NW Missouri Girl Scouts at www.gsksmo.org/en/donate/donate-now.html .
