Charles Downey Jr 83 of Plattsburg Missouri died Wednesday Jan 24, 2018 at a local health care center. Born on Aug. 1, 1934 in Plattsburg Missouri to Charles and Joyce (Cole) Downey Sr. He was a graduate of University of Central Missouri Warrensburg. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church Plattsburg. Charles retired as a Certified Public Accountant for the Kansas Water District #1 after 30 years of service. He was a loyal fan of the KC Royals and the Chiefs. Charles loved sports and going out to eat. When he was in high school he played basketball and his nick name was "Chob".
He was preceded in death by his parents and Brother Richard Downey.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Jo Ann Downey of the home; his sister Linda Key of Excelsior Springs Missouri; and a host of Nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Monday Jan. 29, 2018 at St Ann's Catholic Church Plattsburg. Interment, Calvary Cemetery Plattsburg. The family will gather with friends at the church one hour prior to the service at the church. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Alzheimer's Association.
