Carol S. "Susie" Phipps 70 of Plattsburg Missouri died Thursday August 10, 2017 at a Kansas City Missouri Hospital. Born on Sept. 10, 1946 in St Joseph Missouri to Raymond J. and Dorothy M. (Maugh) Komer. She was a high school graduate and a member of the Restore Community Church KCMO. Although Susie had significant heart issues for 20 years, she lived life as she wanted. Canning, sewing and baking were her passions. Early in life, she was a "zipper queen" at Big Smith. She served others often with her great cooking. In recent years, she sold "the best" cinnamon rolls, bread & pies at the Parkville Farmer's Market while making over 300 dresses for the orphans in Haiti.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Brother Jerry Komer; Sister Judy Riga.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years Charles Phipps of the home; her children Melissa Steele (Keith) Moran of Parkville MO; Kristi (Steve) Yates of St Joseph MO; Jennifer (Jeff) Boomgarden of Kansas City MO; Jeff Phipps of Plattsburg MO; Wendy Kreidler of Olathe KS., her brother Gene Komer of Ft Collins CO; and Mike Komer of St Petersburg FL; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grand children.
The family will have a celebration of life with food and sharing of memories on Friday Aug. 18, 2017 beginning at 12noon at the family home, 1002 North Hwy Y Plattsburg Missouri.
